New Denver
Region District of the Central Kootenay, Electoral Areas

Please note that we received no responses from candidates in Montrose, Nakusp and Silverton. Responses received after the survey response deadline might not be included. EcoSociety will update as possible.

Method: EcoSociety sent the survey to all candidates with emails listed on Civic Info BC. We made efforts to get alternate email addresses if we got bounce back messages from the addresses listed above and called candidates to get valid emails if they were missing. EcoSociety phoned all candidates in some communities to encourage them to complete the survey before the results were published if they had not responded. Candidates who did not complete the survey have no responses recorded in the results.

For the final question asking about track record, EcoSociety copied and pasted answers as they were written by the candidates. EcoSociety gave these directions on this question:

This is your opportunity to highlight your track record on any other environmental or social justice issues you have already taken action on. For example, you can share previous council motions you have supported and why, or programs you have lead in your community. Please list no more than 3.

Character limit: 1500 characters (including spaces). If there are more than 1500 characters or more than 3 points, EcoSociety will only publish the first 1500 characters and/or 3 points.

If you are a candidate and we have incorrect information on your form (i.e. incorrectly spelled you name, incorrectly identified the position you are running for, you have pulled out of the election and wish that to be indicated on the website) please send us a note (accounts @
