Grow me Instead:Planting Native Specie Webinar

You’re invited to EcoSociety’s community expert speaker series during the COVID pandemic. Bring your lunch and learn with us.

Wondering what native species you should be planting? Laurie will go over the “Grow Me Instead” PlantWise program which offers garden plant alternatives to invasive plants. She will talk about invasive species and the high priority plant species in the Kootenays.  Brenda and Valerie will provide information on native plants, the principles of “ecological gardening,” and about local native plant alternatives you could consider for your home space.

Laurie Carr, B.Sc.F, M.Sc., Development Coordinator, Central Kootenay Invasive Species Society.  Laurie’s background is in plant community and population ecology research.
