When I changed careers and moved to the Kootenays four years ago, I thought my direct work on the climate crisis was done…

When I came across the great work of the West Kootenay EcoSociety, though, and its community-based approach to taking on vital issues, I felt drawn to support it. I’ve been a member and on the board for most of the four years since then. I’m proud that EcoSociety keeps its Kootenay roots to address food security by bringing people together at the markets. I’m inspired by the way people connect to wild spaces because of our work. I’m excited to see Kootenay communities themselves committing to make the transition to renewable energy.

Being an EcoSociety member has been a source of pride for me and I invite you to be a part of something vital, and something very life-giving.
