It is with great pleasure that we announce Renewable Kootenays Drinks!

What is a Renewable Kootenays drink, you may ask? Six local drink producers have agreed to designate one or two flavours of their own crafted deliciousness to the 100% Renewable Kootenays initiative, in addition to donating a portion of the proceeds. 100% Renewable Kootenays seeks to transition our region onto 100% renewable energy by 2050 to keep average global temperature increase below 2°C so we can keep skiing, have less forest fires, keep our planet liveable, all that good stuff.

Here is a list of our participating businesses:

  • No. 6 Coffee Co. – $2 from bags of Honduras Las Capucas & Mexico Kulaktik available in-store and at Kootenay Co-op
  • Virtue Artisan Tea – $2 from bags of Blueberry Hibiscus Rooibos & Cardamom Mint Green Tea available at the markets and soon to be at Kootenay Co-op
  • Kootenay Kombucha – 10% from tap fills of Amazon Energy & Hibiscus Berry at all West Kootenay retailers, including the markets!
  • Nelson Brewing Co. – 15% from growler fills of Bent Pole IPA
  • Torchlight Brewing Co. – $0.50 from pints of Summer Lovin’ Cream Ale
  • Backroads Brewing Co. – $0.50 from pints of Hefeweizen

Additional recognition is also due for the Kootenay Co-op – $1 of the donation from bags of No. 6 Coffee and Virtue Artisan Tea sold in their store comes from them!

First draw on July 31st, second draw on August 30th (so get your entries in there early and you’ll be entered in both draws!)
