What will our 100% Renewable Kootenays look like?

The City of Nelson, Village of Slocan and the Regional District of Central Kootenays have all made commitments to be 100% renewable communities by 2050.

The transition to renewable energy sources is abundant with opportunity. We have the chance to build a strong, resilient and green local economy that will create skilled jobs, here in the Kootenays. The trasition will require us to come together, build networks and relationships, making us a healthier, more connected community.

We know that in order to transition off fossil fuels successfully by 2050 we need a plan. Creating a plan is no easy task and we want to offer as much support as we can to our City and regional staff. We also know that we need input from the whole community, especially those who are not usually decision-makers.

So, here comes the first of our community outreach meetings RE Renewbale Kootenays….

What will our Renewable Kootenays look like in 2050?
