Joining Vancouver City Councillor, Andrea Reimer, at EcoSociety’s Renewable Energy Conference on September 7 will be Vancouver’s Climate Policy Manager, Matt Horne.
Matt will share lessons learnt by Vancouver in developing its energy strategy and getting to work on projects that will move the City off fossil fuels and provide healthier living for its residents.

Matt is responsible for delivering on Vancouver’s commitment to have 100% of the energy used in Vancouver come from renewable sources by 2050. He also advises senior management, and mayor and council on climate change policy issues. Prior to joining the City, Matt worked for the Pembina Institute helping to advance climate change policy in B.C. and across Canada. He has a Master of Resource Management degree from Simon Fraser University, and a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree from Dalhousie University.
Matt is looking forward to answering your questions and sharing his technical knowledge on how communities can indeed transition 100% renewable energy by 2050 in at least transportation, heating and cooling, and electricity, even here in the Kootenays.
