Castlegar Butterflyway Rangers in partnership with Castlegar Communities  in Bloom, KNPS, KinSeed Ecologies, and CKISS,  are  maintaining and developing pollinator gardens near the Kootenay Gallery of Art. This initiative is part of David Suzuki Foundation project, which focuses on supporting native pollinators through planting native plants.

This year the infestation of the invasive vetch is threatening ecosystems and habitats, including young meadow, which kids from Twin Rivers seeded in October 2021. To remove the vetch from surrounding areas, we asked ScapeGoats Landscape Restoration for their help. 40 goats grazed the area for two days to rid the area of the vetch infestation.

This project would not be possible by the help of volunteers and the many people who have supported this project.
