Job Description
Working with EcoSociety staff and volunteers, the Assistant will work with community members in Trail and the Lower Columbia to engage the greater community to continue promoting regional tourism and supporting environmental protection.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing administrative systems and tools
- Coordinating and training volunteers
- Leading data entry sessions with volunteers
- Supporting writing communications for EcoSociety’s website and social media
- Supporting fundraising initiatives
- Promoting EcoSociety and it’s programs
- Documenting EcoSociety events and programs.
- Assisting in the transition of our Customer Relationship Management system to a new system which includes exporting and importing data lists, configuring and learning the new system and assisting other staff and volunteers in the transition.
Required Qualifications:
- Passion for working to fulfill EcoSociety’s mission.
- Experience working with data management.
- Team player and problem solver, but must be able to work independently.
- Outstanding verbal and written communicator.
- Comfortable and excited to promote EcoSociety’s work and fundraise from individuals.
- Attention to detail.
- Expert-Intermediate knowledge of: Microsoft Office, Google Drive, CMS, email management, excel, data management, wordpress.
- Organizing skills must include: digital organizing, working in teams.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends (occasionally).
- Connected to local community or strong desire to build connections in the community.
- Understanding of climate, conservation, food and social justice issues.
- Confidence to organize groups of volunteers through fundraising projects.
- Suitable home office during social distancing requirements.
- Comfortable working on a computer 7 hours a day.
Drivers licence is an asset.
This is a partially federally funded Canada Summer Jobs position, to be eligible, applicants must fit the following criteria:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment

- be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
