On Monday, March 8th, Fruitvale Village Council will be voting on whether to commit to a transition to 100% renewable energy in your community. If you and your neighbours send a letter to council letting them know you support a transition to 100% renewable energy in your community, then Council will vote in favour of the transition, because they will feel supported by you and your neighbours to do so.

Can you take 5 minutes now and let your Council know why you care about a transition to 100% renewable energy in your community?

Can you imagine what a transition to 100% renewable energy will look like in Fruitvale? Well for one, it will mean that your town will be a leader in rural Canada as a model of safe and healthy living. In case you missed it before, here are a few examples of what a commitment to transition to 100% renewable energy could look like in Fruitvale.

Making a plan to:

  • Add more EV (Electric Vehicle) charging stations, to make having an electric vehicle make sense where you live
  • Add more bike racks, to make it easier and more convenient to choose pedal power or even invest in an electric bike!
  • Increase efficiency in new buildings (Step Code) and adopt a voluntary standard for retrofitting older buildings so that we can afford to heat our houses while reducing our carbon pollution

With EV charging stations, bike racks and community gardens already in place, Fruitvale is already on their way. Take your next step with us and share who you are and why you care about a transition to 100% renewable energy. When you click submit, it will go directly to Fruitvale Mayor and Councillors showing them that they will be supported in committing to the transition.

Fruitvale Village Council meets Monday at 4pm, so send your letter now!
