Members from Beyond Boarding travel BC in a veggie oil powered school bus with two of their documentary films to inspire outdoor communities.

NELSON, BRITISH COLUMBIA – MARCH 8th 2013 – The Express Cafe, 544 Ward Street.

The the two films feature high level snowboarding, surfing, cinematography, and storytelling, and promise to hold audience attention throughout each evening of the tour. David Suzuki’s grandson and Co-Founder of Beyond Boarding, Tamo Campos, and other Beyond Boarding members (Desiree Wallace and Hannah Campbell) will be present at the premier to connect with the community. The two films; Belén and Northern Grease, document Beyond Boarding’s flagship projects for 2012 and 2013, respectively.  Belén tells the story of Canadian snowboarders Tamo Campos and Dave MacKinnon traveling through South America, working with local development organizations in impoverished communities and snowboarding volcano craters in Patagonia.

Northern Grease follows Tamo, Jasper Snow Rosen, John Muirhead, and Hannah Campbell travel 18,000 Kms across Northern BC in a veggie oil powered school bus, as they learn about problems presented by resource extraction projects and visit the people who’s lifestyles present solutions.
