Join West Kootenay EcoSociety and friends for a fun celebration of Earth Day on April 22.

2015 marks the 45th anniversary of the original Earth Day on April 22, 1970. What started with thousands now reaches over a billion people world wide.

In Rossland, Earth Day will be celebrated downtown in partnership with Rossland Real Food and the Rossland Mountain Market Society on Saturday April 18th. Activities include:

  • 9:30 – 11:30 – Annual Backyard Chicken Crawl (Maps soon to come!)
  • 12:00 – 3:00 – Earth Day Expo and Fair @ Harry Lefevre Square
  • 2:00 – 7:00 – Farmer’s Market @ Rossland Miner’s Hall
  • Ongoing activities along Columbia Avenue throughout the day!

In Nelson, we’re planning an Earth Day fair from 4-6pm on Baker Street (pending approval from the City of Nelson). Nature-themed activities for kids and adults will include fish printing, animal costume making, and live music!

West Kootenay EcoSociety will also have a table at the Kootenay Coop Store, where 3% of all purchases will be donated to the West Kootenay EcoSociety.
