The Jumbo Glacier Mountain Resort Municipality is planning on getting $1 million in taxpayer money to subsidize development of the controversial ski resort.

The municipality’s five-year financial plan projects $200,000 per year in revenue from “government transfers” – a code word for money coming from the BC government. The municipality, whose legitimacy has been challenged in court, has already received $250,000 from BC taxpayers to support the development of municipal planning. The proposed revenue has been challenged by the Invermere City Council and the Members of Legislative Assembly for the area.
